Experience in the San Juan Islands

We met in Vail and a few years later decided to relocate to the San Juan Islands. For the past five years we’ve lived full-time on Decatur Island while working for Decatur Northwest, an HOA that spans over 600 acres and includes 97 homes, a flock of sheep, two tennis courts, two gardens, a community center, shop, vehicles, golf carts, a hot tub, and countless homeowner assets.

As caretakers and groundskeepers, we’ve worn many hats:

Maintaining community grounds, roads, and water systems
Overseeing drainage, waste management, and dock upkeep
Launching and hauling homeowner boats
Coordinating transportation and contractor services
Managing large-scale projects and providing trusted oversight
Handling homeowner maintenance requests, big and small

This experience has given us a practical knowledge base that only comes from years of hands-on work in a close-knit island community.

We're Meagan and Cy, a husband-and-wife team living on Decatur Island and soon to be based in Anacortes. Together we bring nearly two decades of diverse experience in property care, maintenance, and management. Our combined skills translate into supporting waterfront homes, boats, docks, and island logistics.

Cy’s background

Cy grew up in the San Diego area and moved to Vail, Colorado in 2012. He managed seven warehouses for a high-end interior design firm, coordinating projects for prominent clients that included athletes and luxury brand founders. His work often went beyond logistics, handling on-site repairs and overseeing installations to ensure everything was completed to the highest standard.

Meagan’s background

Meagan is originally from Detroit and moved to Vail in 2013. She worked as a part-time TV host, as well as full-time Promotions Manager and on-air DJ for the local broadcast stations, where she planned events, coordinated promotions, and kept daily operations running smoothly. During that time, she also managed luxury homes in Vail and Beaver Creek, working closely with high-profile clients and making sure every detail, from property care to guest readiness, was handled with the highest level of service.

What’s next

After five years on Decatur, we’re excited to expand our horizons. We’ve decided to make Anacortes our home base and will continue serving the outer islands as well.
